Class Descriptions:

A fun, fat-burning, full-body workout.  The session starts with aerobics, and finishes with  toning exercises, including some Pilates core work to strengthen abdominals, back and pelvic floor.  

  • Monday: 11:00 – 12:00  “Pilates Venue: Pirton Village Hall, Pirton SG5 3PS Pilates is a brilliant form of exercise which helps improve your posture, tone and strengthen your abdominals, back and pelvic floor, increase flexibility, challenge your balance and coordination, release tension and help you de-stress. These sessions use the original pilates exercises and add some more functional elements from Fitness Pilates. Therefore some of the exercises are done standing rather than the whole session being on the mat, so the body is better trained and prepared for everyday life.
  • Tuesday: 10:15 – 11:15 “50+ Fit & Fabulous”  Venue: Xchange Fitness, Queen Street, HitchinThis session combines low impact aerobics, with strength and toning exercises that will get your feet moving, & your heart pumping. 
  • Wednesday: 19:15 – 20:15 “Hiit / Interval training” Venue: Samuel Lucas School Hall, Gaping Lane, Hitchin, SG5 2JQ This session includes a combination of functional cardiovascular & toning exercises, to timed intervals. You can work at your own level, high or low impact.  Suitable for fitness enthusiasts and beginners alike.  A great way to get fit rather than spending hours in the gym. 
  • Thursday: 09:30 – 10:15  “Intermediate Pilates” Venue: J.S. Dance Academy, 1st Floor, Bury Mead Rd, Hitchin, Herts SG5 1RT
  • NB: The 9.30am session moves at a faster pace, ideal for someone that has covered basic Pilates.  
  • Thursday: 10:20 – 11:15  “Pilates” Suitable for beginners and intermediate level.
  • Friday: 09:30 – 10:30  “Intermediate Pilates”  Venue: Pirton Village Hall, Pirton SG5 3PS 
  • Friday: 10:45 – 11:45  “Pilates”  These sessions use the original pilates exercises and add some more functional elements from Fitness Pilates. We focus on posture, balance, muscle tone, joint mobility, as well as releasing stress and tension.  Suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels.
